It’s August 2024 and 5 books in the Lorikeet’s Series are published.

I decided I should reach out to several publishers to see if they were interested in publishing, promoting and distributing my books. I had 3 respond with positive letters, however after reading the agreement, I decided to go with Tellwell to publish Book 1 only. It seems each publishing house wants to make your book into their own project. As my books are ready with Cover page and the files for both print and eBook completed ready to upload, I didn’t see the point signing with a company who felt the need to make further changes.
Joining Author groups is fun, ha! ha! Author 😊they have a lot of good information to offer newbies such as myself. You can see where they publish, how they promote themselves etc.. It’s nice to get information from those who have ‘been there done that’.
I joined an author train to get reviews and wow, cause I didn’t quite understand how it worked, I made it challenging for the admin, thankfully they put me straight. A lovely lady in California ‘Lori’ who was also a newbie on the train explained the process so I got it right in the end and did my first reviews for others including Lori’s book “The Butterfly Garden”. There are so many talented writers out there.
My son Andrew works at St Andrew’s Memorial Hospital in Springhill, Brisbane, Australia. I sent Andrew the first 4 books in the Series which he donated to the Pediatrics Ward. I hope the colourful illustrations of the Lorikeet’s and their adventures help brighten the children’s days.
Storytime Pup Channel, approached me to have a ‘book bite’ done. This is a blurb about you and the book read by a cartoon pup. I went ahead and they have created a youtube video. When it is released, I will add it to the website. At a later date I may get Storytime Pup to read the books.
