Book 2 in the Lorikeet’s series – Lorikeet’s Tasty Adventure is available! The publishing experience went without a hitch on this occasion, we learned from the challenges we had with book 1.

If you’ve been following my blog you will know the Lorikeet’s book project started with the writing of the stories in 2012. The constant through this journey has been my son, Andrew. He has motivated me and supported this venture from the beginning. Andrew is a person who likes everything done correctly, in order and won’t take short cuts. He believes the stories will provide great value to children and will be a success. Even though he works and has his own time consuming projects, he still has time for me and my challenging questions.

Over the years Andrew has been patiently listening to me waffle on about the difficulty of finding suitable illustrators, the self-publishing process and what to add to my website. Between the two of us, after a lot of research and back and forth, we now understand the publishing process from start to end and Andrew has streamlined the process to work for us. Andrew questions every little detail to make sure our process is working. He has read and edited the each story, ensures formatting and punctuation is correct and manages the version control when something has been changed for any of the many files we produce. He liaises with the Graphic Designer to ensure all information is added and correctly placed in the right order. Nothing gets past Andrew.
