Story Edits and Suggestions!

Reviewing and editing comes with the territory when you put pen to paper. Everyone has a different interpretation of the written word. It’s beneficial to get others, in my case, family members to read and make helpful suggestions.

I left school before I finished Grade 10, so I don’t have a vast vocabulary and appreciate all assistance. When I would finish a story, my husband was the first person I would read to. Phillip would listen closely and make suggestions of word changes, keeping in mind the stories are for children.

My son Andrew got on board and has read each story and suggested formatting and grammar edits. He is very thorough, not only has he assisted me with editing and other aspects of the publishing journey, he manages quality control and numbers the versions as they are updated.

Jacinta, daughter number 2, helped create the blurb for inside the book, Kelly the eldest was first to draw an illustration for me, now she supports me by reviewing and discussing the illustrations. How lucky am I?
